Will Your Phone Work With a Cell Phone Tracker App?
Many people who have cell phones have heard about a new technology called cell phone tracking. If you haven’t heard about this technology, let me take a minute and explain it to you. All cell phones are now equipped with GPS receivers in them so that when emergency operators receive emergency calls from people on their cell phone, they can instantly locate the caller and send help right away.
Several companies have come out with cell phone tracker applications that can be downloaded and installed on your cell phone which will enable you to use your cell phone as a GPS tracking device. This is a fantastic way to keep track of family members or employees.
It’s important to note that not all cell phones work with all free cell phone tracking apps. The most popular cell phone tracker apps are MobiWee, Glympse, Google Latitude, Find My iPhone, and the Sprint Family Locator. In most cases you have to download and install a special cell phone tracking app in order to be able to use your cell phone as a GPS tracking device. Sprint is the only exception that I am aware of. If you have a Sprint cell phone, you can sign up for the Sprint Family Locator which only costs $5.00 a month and you don’t have to download any software onto the phone. Their cell phone tracking application will work with all Sprint or Nextel cell phones.
In order to be able to use the other cell phone tracker applications, you must have one of the modern programmable smart phones. In most cases, if you own a cell phone that is powered by Google Android or Windows mobile, you will be able to use the cell phone tracking app. If you have an iPhone, you can either use Find My iPhone, Glympse, or Google Latitude. The easiest way to know if your particular model of cell phone is supported by the cell phone tracker application is to simply go to the cell phone tracker applications website and check.
