Chicago’s Best Attractions
Chicago is home to many great attractions as well as many historical sites that date back to before the great fire, so if you’re struggling with deciding which city to visit on your next mini vacation, this article will give you some Chicago travel tips. Although there are many things to do in Boston, for instance, the windy city provides tons of fun things to do and a lot of great attractions.
Chicago has something to offer almost every type of traveler. It is a wonderful tourist destination due to its mix of great architecture, culture and hundreds of free and cheap activities. When sightseeing in Chicago it is best to start in the Loop. The Loop makes up the circle around Chicago’s downtown core. If you are staying downtown, you will be able to sight-see most of the attractions within the Loop on foot. In the Loop you can check out the various museums, beaches, and other things to do such as eating at some of the many restaurants, and going out to some of the United States’ best clubs.
If you are looking for a multicultural hub where you can get lots of delicious ethnic food and tons of unique shopping then you will want to visit Andersonville. It’s a combination of many different cultures which contains delis, cafes, craft shops, and wild nightlife.
While in Chicago, no trip is complete without a visit to the Sears Tower. It held the record of world’s tallest building for many years, and its enclosed glass perches allow you to step out and look at the view from over 100 stories up. The SkyDeck is full of informative exhibits and information about how the building was built.
For free attractions here are some free Chicago travel tips: you can visit one of the city’s many gardens or parks as well as some of the art galleries and museums. Millennium Park and Chicago Botanical Gardens are both beautiful spots as are Garfield Park Conservatory and the Lincoln Park Conservatory. The Smith Museum of Stained Glass will show you some of the most interesting stained glass images, and then follow it up with a visit to the Intuit: Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art which provides you with a chance to see some unknown and lesser known original artwork.
There is something to see and do in every part of the windy city, during every season, and for every type of traveler. In fact, with so much here, it is often worth taking a second trip.
