How to illuminate your Home Exterior?

It is good to know that in order to illuminate your garden or patio, you are not limited solely to string lights. There are many other options available each with their own advantages or disadvantages. In order to create the atmosphere you want you might consider to mix your options ot choose the one that you like the most.

There is nothing wrong with garden or patio string lights because we have used them for decades to illuminate the surrounding of our house and it all worked out fine. But installing string lights is a burden for most people because they don’t like to work with electricity. And although there are many options available, the light they emit is anything but romantic. The light is often to bright and that is why people are considering other options, options that create an atmosphere they are looking for.

Oil Lamps

Have you ever considered to use oil lamps for external lighting? You don’t want to use this to hang on a wall or let it burn when you are not at home but when you are relaxing on your patio or in your garden they can add something special. Mankind has always been fascinated by fire and that is probably the reason why so many people like to use them.

Lanterns and Candles

Another way to create fire is with candles. If you want to do something special than put them in Persian or Chinese Lanterns. In that way they emit lighting patterns that create an eastern atmosphere. Candles don’t emit enough light to read a book or play a game, but they do create effects that you can not duplicate in other ways.

Solar lights

Lights that run on a free energy source, what do you want more? Solar lights are great for just that reason, the sun charges their batteries and they will emit light at night. They emit a very soft kind of light which is enough to see where you are going but is more intended for creating a certain mood. Sadly they are still very expensive and that is why not that many people are using them which is kind of sad because they are also very good for the environment.
