How to Install A Digital Key Safe

Key safe boxes are excellent add-ons to any security system at home. This is because it gives you a safe place to store your keys. The thing is, most people would encounter some problems with its dial type combination locks, most especially during night time or at the dark hours and especially if it is raining hard. Usually, if you have forgotten your key and that you need to get in to your house, the last thing you will do is to fumble with a dark dial. The good news is, there is already a solution to this predicament, and that is to install a weather keypad and enter the security numbers. This numbers will display on an LED or lighted LCD screen. Now the question that probably comes to your mind is, how do you install them?

The very first thing to consider in installing this is the placement. An area that is shielded from an open view but is still easily accessible is a good location for your digital key safe boxes. Another great spot is to bolt it on the underside of a back deck. This is certainly ideal for those with high fence. This way, you can easily retrieve your key and enter through the back door, while maintaining the location of the box in secret. To do this, just simply drill a small hole on the post or on the deck itself, but fairly near to the edge, so you will no longer have to climb under. Putting on washers on both sides will firmly tighten the securing nuts, keeping your safety box secure. Unless you’ve got a really huge safety box, you do not need a power supply. Small boxes are powered by nickel cadmium battery and have a very long life span.

If you’re buying your key safe box from a big company, they may offer some free installation for you. The person assigned as an installer is trained to check out the property and install the box in a location ideal for your particular needs. There might be some key safe boxes being sold for only under $50, but these may not come with free installation, and that it may cost you another $50 to have the key safe box installed.
