Learn how to Potty Train a Dog
If you have ever housebroken a puppy before, you know it’s quite a challenging endeavor that can be very time consuming and frustrating. Getting any dog to start using the outdoors as their toilet instead of your carpet is something that all new dog owners have to go through, no matter what breed their dog is. If you have a beagle puppy, it is not much different to train than any other dog, but there are a few differences that are important to know.
Just like any other dog, there is a procedure to follow when potty training your beagle puppy. It sounds silly, but it is very important that your dog know exactly where he should go to the bathroom. He’s not going to just know automatically, so show him where to go and praise him incessantly when he goes in the right place. It’s also very important to watch for signs that your puppy many need to go outside. Any time you notice a change in his demeanor, he may need to go to the bathroom, so take him outside. Any kind of dancing or prancing around may be a sign, so make sure you keep an eye on your dog at all times and look for changes in personality that may signify that he has to do his deed. It is much easier to take your dog outside thirty times a day than clean up a mess.
The key here is to get your dog to go the bathroom where he is supposed to go, which is outside. By taking him outside early and often, this will lessen the chances of an accident and heighten the chances that he goes in the appropriate place. By going in the right place, this gives you as the owner an opportunity for praise, which will ultimately be the thing that teaches your dog that what he is doing is appropriate.
