Can You Make Money as a Traffic Attorney?
Being a traffic ticket attorney isn’t necessarily the most sexy job you can have. I mean, you are basically spending all day every day haggling over what in most cases is a $135 speeding ticket. But, if you are starting your own law firm or just looking to increase your revenues a little bit more, it may make sense to think about selling yourself as a traffic attorney.
But does it pay well?
I can tell you that it does pay well, but as you might expect, it’s a volume business. The more tickets you do, the more money you make. And you are constantly working to get more and more people to know who you are and what you do so you can get more and more tickets. And I know this because I’m a traffic attorney in Seattle. Every day hundreds of people are getting popped with a Seattle speeding ticket. Each one of those people is a potential client of yours.
To do it right, though, you need to have a system set up that maximizes your time and makes everything run like a well oiled machine. For example, you should have a system in place to try to get as many tickets scheduled for one court hearing as possible. It’s much easier to go in and take care of 10 tickets at one hearing than to come back to the same court ten different times.
To make any decent money you are going to probably need to be doing about 10 tickets a week. That will gross you about $10,000 a month, which is pretty decent money. As you grow, then so will your ticket output and the income that you make from traffic tickets.
The answer to this question is yes, you can make money as a traffic attorney. I do it, I know other people that do it. And it can be a great source of income. You just have to go after all those potential clients with a vengeance.
