Simple Projector Screen Projects

If you are a movie buff like me and you want to keep more of your money in your pocket instead of giving it to movie theaters, consider a simple projector screen project. You can buy a nice mid-level projector for about $3,000. If you look on eBay, you might be able to find at half that price. That is less than a year of movie tickets! Once you have the projector, creating the screen is as easy as one-two-three. Here are three great diy projector screen projects.

As with any home project, there are levels of quality. If you are handy with wiring, you could buy a motorized projector screen. After installation this type of screen is ideal for a small space. When not in use, the screen stores in the housing, out of sight. You could also save a bundle and buy a second-hand tripod projector screen. Storing it could be an issue, however. If you are a stickler for the look of the movie, you will probably want to go with one of these two cloth screen options. You paid a lot for the lcd projector; screen quality is a primary concern.

However, the best projector screen just might be the kind that stays put all year round! For under $300 you can get a can of screen paint. This specialty paint will go on the wall just like regular paint and when not in use, it looks like a white or light gray wall. Several companies specialize in these sorts of paints. You can opt for several attributes, depending on your needs as a viewer.

Which ever project suits your style and your families budget, having your own home theater is a great idea. Suddenly movie night has a whole new meaning when you aren’t fighting for a parking space, spending an arm and a leg for stale popcorn and walking across a sticky floor.
